Swazi Candles

Swazi Candles started in an old cowshed of a former dairy in 1981 in the days when The Kingdom of Swaziland was a haven of refuge from the old Apartheid regime across the border. The little workshop soon gained a reputation for producing unique candles and attracted visitors from far & wide to become one of Swaziland’s premier tourist attractions. By the mid nineties the workshop had burgeoned into an industry that employed over 200 local people and exported candles all over the world. They are members of IFAT (International Federation for Alternative Trade). The workers are part of the decision making process. The candles are made and finished by hand and glow like stain glass windows.
